About EIGTWEN
We are a Columbus, OH team of potters, printmakers and repair geeks making the finishing touches that keep handmade work alive.
It Started with a Shelf of Cracked Clay
In 2018, our founder ran a small pottery studio and kept watching the same heartbreak: students would sculpt something wonderful in air dry clay, take it home — and a month later it was cracked, chipped or dull. Store-bought sealants were sticky, cloudy or simply not made for air dry clay at all.
So we formulated our own. After a year of testing on hundreds of student pieces, the EIGTWEN clay glaze was born: crystal clear, watertight, and kind to beginners. It went on to become America's favorite air dry clay glaze — and the foundation of everything we make.
Today the line covers the whole maker's journey: varnishes for clay and acrylic painting, cyanotype sun printing kits, kintsugi repair sets, wood burning tools, and care essentials for treadmills, aquariums and vinyl collections. Different crafts, one idea — good work deserves to last.
Good Work Deserves to Last
Our mission is to protect the hours you pour into handmade things. We obsess over clarity, durability and easy application so that the piece you finish today still makes you proud years from now.
Made to Protect
Every formula exists for one reason: to guard your work against cracks, scratches, moisture and time.
Beginner-Friendly
Complete kits, plain-English instructions and forgiving formulas — your first try should succeed, not frustrate.
Honest Craft
No inflated claims. If a glaze isn't food-safe, the label says so. What we promise is what the bottle does.
Keep Old Arts Alive
Cyanotype printing, kintsugi repair, wood burning — we package centuries-old crafts so a new generation can fall in love with them.
